So I heard about an "experiment" throughout the nation and some of the district schools are think of extending the school day from 7:30-3:00 to 7:30-6:00. This change would affect the school day and that alone. It would not modify breaks or the start of school. I honestly dislike this idea as I have little room in my schedule for anything I want to do. As most of my year I go to school at 7:30 and get home at 7(as a result of extra-curricular's), this would push back my activities to 10:30. While supporters of this change say that homework could be completed in school with the extended classes, I still would have to study which would be disastrous at 10:30. Also, half the year I go from 7:30-10:00 as a result of marching band and cross country. Now add 3 hours to that and thats 1:00 am for me to START homework. Many students find this change outrageous, and I wish for your opinion. I realize that this change will likely be shot down or stopped but the idea that they would consider this is astonishing.
