Keep the Current Calendar: Get our voice heard

For all of us that want to keep the status quo and know it is wrong to change the calendar, we need to be heard. I feel like this change in the calendar was voiced by the vocal minority and the majority of us like how it is today and see the wisdom in keeping it.

First off, send letters to Dr. Messinger and the Board. Here is mine as an example (a little long, so be warned), it is in the bottom as well https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WFS7ENKDK4wEga3tDN0LcnamxMfHYgzR-BGCt3Fepa4/edit

Secondly, I started a petition here to help show how many people are against this idea. This link is also at the bottom as well.

Third, just talk to your friends relatives, kids, etc about how you feel! I think some people just need to be educated about the dangers of changing the schedule and the lasting impacts it will have. Because at the end of the day, it is the face to face interactions that make all of the difference!

And lastly, let's go to the townhall sessions to really get our voice heard. On Wednesday December 12, 6-7:30 at Broomfield High School, and on Thursday December 13, 6-7:30 at the YMCA at 95th and Arapahoe.

Because for me, what it boils down to is this:
Does two week of heat at the beginning of school affecting some elementary schools constitute a whole change to the calendar jeopardizing high school students?
